Although I am not a woman of colour, I greatly appreciated reading this book and learning from the wonderful women within and their stories. Sometimes not an easy read, but I believe that is necessary for a greater understanding of the life experiences of all women.

The bad news is, there are very few copies of this book around. The one on Amazon is going for over $150, with a used one for nearly $50. I wish they would update and re-issue this one. If you find one, buy it and read it. Black or white (or anybody else) this book will give you an idea of what it's like to be a person of color in America.

It happened so quickly that even Laurel didn't see it coming. One day Dan was her best friend, her boyfriend, a good guy. He'd always been a little withdrawn, but he never seemed like the type to hate people for the colour of their skin. Or for what they belived. Laurel soon realizes that Dan's in too deep. That her boyfriend has become a neo-nazi skinhead. And there's no way she can save him from his new "friends." Laurel just hopes he is strong enough to find his way out....
