Becky, I commend you on writing about your past and journey to break out of the chains that so often keep us bound in fear, guilt, and negativity. I also was a victim at the age of seven. I was gang raped by older kids. Unfortunately, there are many of us, both men and women, who have been physically, emotionally, and sexually abused during childhood.I like the fact that you have included exercises to work through. Writing helps in the processing of core beliefs and automatic thoughts. I also appreciate your use of scripture in the exercises. Jesus is our healer whether it’s physical or emotional.Your title “Rewriting Your Emotional Script” is very accurate. The script of our movie began one week after conception and is affected by the people and experiences in our lives. The use of the word script indicates that it can be rewritten like a movie script that undergoes rewrites before or during production. The best part is that we can rewrite our script and change it from negative to positive. We don’t have to be plagued by fear and guilt. We can rewrite those scenes. No, we can’t delete the scenes like we all wish we could, but we can rewrite them, change them, for a happier, more fulfilling life.Thank you for the courage to write your story and a book of healing.

Excellent book. Becky is a great writer and a gifted speaker. This book is based on the beatitudes, allowed me to see them with new eyes. Your emotional script is a complex thing but sets the tone for your life. With Jesus, strong emotional strongholds and lies from childhood can be erased and relearned. It is a process. This book would be great as an individual or group Bible study. I highly recommend it. Very encouraging. .

It seems a little scary to delve into your emotional script, but Jesus has met with me at every turn. It's obvious He has formed our small group to take this journey together. He has been waiting on the shores for us as He was waiting for Jairus in Luke 8 to come to ask Him to come to his house. We orderd the audio also from Moody radio as part of our small group time. It is well worth it.

Been going through this book with some friends, it's so good, and will really help you! Best to go through it with a group or friend, but is also good on your own. Just be completely honest as you go through it!
